Streaming Audio Recorder – Record Streaming Audio and More
If you want to record the sound that you hear on your speakers, or if you want to record audio from your microphone, the Streaming Audio Recorder is the application that’s perfectly suited for the job. This is an easy to use and powerful audio recorder that can do much more than record streaming audio – it can also play your audio files, convert them, lets you edit them, and it provides a handy means of downloading free music from the web. On top of that, it can rip CDs and burn CDs.
The Streaming Audio Recorder application is available for Microsoft’s Windows and Apple’s Mac OS X. The Windows installation file weighs in at 14.1MB. A simple setup wizard will help you install the application on Windows 7, Vista, XP, or 2003.
You wouldn't be taken by surprise by Streaming Audio Recorder’s interface if you ever used an application of this type before. At the top there are buttons for starting a recording, for playing an audio file, converting an audio file from one format to another (MP3, AAC, WMA, WAV, and OGG are supported), and downloading free music from the web.
Recording streaming audio with Streaming Audio Recorder could not be an easier job: all you have to do is click the red On button from the Record tab. The application will detect any streaming audio playing on the computer and start recording it. To stop the recording, simply press the red Off button. You can manually start a recording job, or you can set it up so it is run automatically – there is a scheduler you can use for this purpose. When you’re done with your recording, you can play it, you can edit it, or you can convert it to another format.
As mentioned above, Streaming Audio Recorder can also download free music from the web. By default the application displays the Top 10 Songs in the Search tab. In the Search Music box you can type in the name of a track and Streaming Audio Recorder will search for it.
A licensed version of Streaming Audio Recorder comes with no limitations; the trial version, on the other hand, does not let you record for more than 3 minutes and lets you download only one piece of music at a time.
